Our History

N24 Tapas by Bart is a restaurant in Olhão, set on the waterfront right across from the historic municipal fresh-food markets. A vibrant tapas restaurant and cocktail bar (with rooftop), its interior showcases the influence of Roman ruins and brings together fashion, art, music, and a distinctive approach to food and drink.

While inspired by the past, N24 Tapas is driven by owner Bart’s vision of innovation and creativity. The cuisine takes inspiration from international tapas, infusing an African twist from Bart’s Cape Verdean heritage. The cocktail bar crafts signature drinks with superior quality, combining experience from London to New York. Perfect for sunset rooftop drinks and shared tapas in the heart of Olhão.

At N24 Tapas Olhão, we not only offer great tapas and cocktails, but we also embrace our rich history. Our restaurant is intricately connected to the ancient food history and culture of the Algarve region, combining Roman, Muslim, and Portuguese traditions of fishing and salting. This historical influence is preserved and visible in our walls and architecture.

As you step into N24 Tapas, you will be greeted by the salt packed walls and arches that once formed part of the salting warehouses of the era, extending along the length of our bar and ground floor.

On the upper levels, you will discover a three-level rooftop area. Here, you can indulge in rooftop dining and cocktails while enjoying a view of the historic markets directly in front, with the bustling street below. The uppermost level offers a cozy soft seating space with a more intimate ambiance.

At N24 Tapas, our architecture serves as a captivating reference to the past, but our true essence is shaped by the individuals within our walls. Whether you’re on an intimate date, attending a dinner party, enjoying live music, spending an afternoon with friends and a bottle of wine, or sipping a late-night cocktail under the starry Algarve sky, N24 Tapas is a space for everyone to celebrate and enjoy. Fabulous new tapas bar with warm friendly staff who are keen to make your visit the best they can. Lovely atmosphere on the roof terrace and inside (rain stopped play). Food was incredible - we particularly enjoyed the mussels, bang bang chicken and fire prawns. Great value for drinks and food we'll certainly be back. Thank you guys for looking after us. xx

Excellent tapas! Shrimp is amazing! Cocktails (also non-alcoholic) are great. I am normally skeptical about the water front restaurants but this one is an exception that I would make.

We ate at this tapas bar in Olhão last week such a gorgeous place love it. Food was amazing chose a few different tapas actually it was the nicest food we've tasted in a while especially enjoyed the beef tapa. Oh and the chocolate cake thanks Ruben. Service is very good friendly made us feel so welcome. Thanks again look forward to our next visit.
